A small unit, electrode pads and the supplies to keep it working, ordered through your doctor or physical therapist.

## What a TENS unit does

A TENS unit is a device that applies an electrical current to electrodes on the skin to treat pain.

## What the supplies include

-   Electrode pads
-   Conductive gel, if the pads need it
-   Tape or adhesive, if the pads need it
-   Adhesive remover
-   Skin preparation materials
-   Batteries, and a charger for rechargeable ones
