Condition

Text neck

Text neck, also called tech neck, is neck, shoulder and back strain from tilting your head forward to look at a phone or tablet.

Cleveland Clinic says tech neck syndrome, also called text neck syndrome, describes the physical stress caused by tilting your head forward to gaze at a handheld smartphone or tablet, which can stress the neck, shoulders and back. Neck placement matters for TENS safety. The NHS says do not use TENS on your neck, mouth or eyes, and University of Iowa Health Care says not to use it on any part of the head, face or throat. Ask your clinician before you use TENS for neck pain. Read TENS for neck, shoulder and headache pain and see chronic pain.
