DME MAC

A DME MAC is a Medicare Administrative Contractor that processes Medicare durable medical equipment claims for a region. Florida claims go to DME MAC Jurisdiction C.

CMS defines a Medicare Administrative Contractor as a private health care insurer that has been awarded a geographic jurisdiction to process Medicare claims. A DME MAC does this for durable medical equipment claims. CMS says Jurisdiction C processes Medicare fee-for-service DME claims for Florida and other states. DME MACs also write local coverage determinations, such as L33802 for TENS units. The LCD lists CGS Administrators, LLC for Jurisdiction C. Your clinician or supplier handles the claim steps.
